About Us

Hi, we are Hannah and Sadhbh, Welcome to Kerensa Ceremonies!

Our name, Kerensa, means ‘love’ in Cornish.

A ceremony is a great way to celebrate love and celebrate life. We want your ​celebration to be as individual as you are, because it is YOU who will hold onto the ​lasting memories of your day. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world ​but we we know how difficult it can be to find somewhere that meets your expectations. ​That’s where we come in. With a celebrant you can have your ceremony wherever you like ​- the beach, a barn, a friend’s garden, a fabulous hotel, a stately home... your options ​are limited only by your imagination.

No ceremony is too big or too small. Whatever your circumstances we want to ensure ​your story is told precisely as you want it to be. For us, creating ceremonies that truly ​show who you are as family and friends, and demonstrating the love you share is an ​absolute privilege. We have been mesmerised by the variety, authenticity and strength of ​love we have witnessed. We are excited to take this journey with you.

Two minds are also better than one! We have been friends for over ten years and ​supported each other as we built our successful careers. We have experience as a ​Deputy Registrar and in public speaking and so we both have the unique skill set that ​comes with conducting your perfect ceremony. Above all we are both calm, collected ​and professional.

Your location

One of the biggest advantages of having a Celebrant-led ​ceremony is the ability to have it wherever you like! Use ​your imagination...your garden, by the sea, a grand hotel, ​in a field, woodland or meadow...any time of day, we can ​be there!

Once you have confirmed a date with your venue we can ​ create your perfect ce​remony.

Your style

This is where you can be truly creative. Classical and traditional or fun and quirky, a mix of the two or something in between...whichever you decide, your day should be unique to you.

A bridal entrance, exchange of rings and romantic vows are all beautiful. You can create your own beautiful alternatives, too. Tradition can start with YOU!

We can include spiritual or symbolic elements and help you embrace any important cultural details.

Your story

We write your ceremony script from scratch and will revise it as many times as it takes to get your unique Love Story told the way that you feel it should.

You can include special readings, music, poems or live performances. We can help you structure and choreograph your ceremony to include all the special elements you desire.

We can also include a certificate signing where you can include children too - helping them to feel part of your special day.

Our Wedding & Vow Renewal Fees

Our base fees include:

• Non-refundable booking fee of £130​
  
• Face-to-face/Zoom Ceremony Consultation (your​ preference)​
• Unlimited email contact​
• Personalised Ceremony Script written from scratch and​ includes unlimited revisions and your control over final draft​
• Advice on writing your own vows (or we can write them for​ you)​
• Attendance at rehersal if required​
• Attendance 45 minutes before your ceremony time​
• Delivering the ceremony on the day​
• Ceremony certificate for signing (optional)​
• Presentation of your script as a keepsake​

2025 - £455​

2024 Payment Plan​

Booking fee - £130​

Instalment 1 - £100​

Instalment 2 - £100​

Final Balance - £100 ​

(due six weeks before​ ceremony date)​

Travelling Fees:

Mileage is charged at ​50p/mile over 20 miles ​from Plymouth

Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a wonderful way to celebrate and welcome a new baby, an adopted child or step children (no matter how old they are) into your family and wider community. Naming ceremonies can also be held to celebrate a legal name change.

Each naming ceremony is unique. They can include your choice of music, poems, readings, parental promises and the appointment of guide parents.

Funeral and Memorial Ceremonies

We are delighted to be working with Rick Cowdry to offer Funeral and Memorial Ceremonies where you can bid farewell to your loved one the way that you want to, and/or mark the anniversary of their passing in a timely and appropriate fashion. Simple or complex, intimate or formal, spiritual or secular, we will discuss your Ceremony wishes with you and assist in precisely compiling the Ceremony that you want.

So what is the difference between a Registrar-led wedding and a Celebrant-led wedding?

Celebrant-led

• Celebrants can officiate ceremonies almost anywhere
• They have the flexibility to include religious or cultural content, or symbolic elements
• They are self-employed and independent professionals
• They develop personalised ceremony scripts based on your love story
• They can include roles for many family and friends
• They will provide you with a ceremony certificate and a copy of your personalised ceremony script
• They will still require couples to 'give notice' and undertake a legal ceremony at a licensed venue such as a register office
